“The Innovation Showcase is a great place for young companies to demonstrate their value to the cable industry. Expertly organized and professionally executed, the rewards from the showcase apply as much to the cable industry attendees as it does to the showcase companies.”

“Innovation Showcase is an absolute must for any startup that’s looking to work with the cable industry. With just a short, 8 minute presentation, I was able to directly connect with exactly the right people. Instead of spending months asking for introductions and scouring LinkedIn, they came right up to me and started the conversation. I even worked with one carrier, right at the booth, to onboard them on Nomorobo! It really was an amazing opportunity.

The audience is comprised of both cable company members and our exhibiting vendors. The number is typically between 600-800.  This is a private event for CableLabs members with no public passes available. Press & media are not allowed.

How are companies selected?

The selection Committee considers all submissions and then narrows the list by choosing those they believe have (1) an innovative, new product or service, (2) the potential to create an exciting demonstration, (3) and, may be of interest to CableLabs members.

If my company has presented at a previous Showcase, are we allowed to apply?

Yes, if you have a new and innovative product/service, you are welcome to submit again.

How long is the presentation?

Each company is given approximately eight minutes on stage.

What does all this cost?

If you are selected, you would pay only those costs associated with travel, lodging, and A/V rental. Employees of participating companies will be able to attend all social events such as meals and receptions. If your company is accepted for participation in the Showcase, you will be provided with a link to the Logistics website. At this site you will be provided with the housing link and other details to help you plan for your participation (shipping, audio visual rental form, Agenda, etc.).

Is a live demo required?

Yes, only live demos will be considered.

What is expected if we are selected?

A video of your presenter, a storyboard, participation in pre-event conference calls to prepare you and your team, your logo in EPS format, and descriptions of your demo.

The Innovation Showcase usually takes place the morning of the first day of the conference.

Mandatory rehearsals will be required for the 2 days PRIOR to the event, so plan on arriving to the location no later than by 8:00 a.m. 2 days before the event. Specific dates/times will be discussed on our pre-event calls.

Each company will rehearse with a professional presentation coach and PowerPoint expert on your first rehearsal day. The day before the event, each company will set up, rehearse, and dry run with the moderator. There will be 2 complete run-throughs and rehearsals on the day before, so please be prepared for an 8-5 day.

We reserve the right to terminate your participation in the Innovation Showcase should your presentation at the final rehearsals fail to perform, in our discretion, at the level we deem suitable for the Innovation Showcase; in that event, a table will be provided for you in the general exhibition area.

You must provide monitors/TVs for your demo, and if using Wireless, a Wireless Access Point. We provide power and connectivity, two large screens, video switch, a professional production crew, and a presentation coach.

Why do we need to provide a video?

The video helps us to identify the uniqueness of the speakers presentation style.

Why do I need to send a storyboard?

We have found the storyboards to be of tremendous value, given that we have a number of video cameras and displays available. We will use the storyboard as a means of providing our production crew with some specific instructions regarding the flow of your demonstration.

What about demo equipment?

You must leave all aspects of your demonstration in place and connected overnight the day prior to the event in the secured ballroom where the session will occur. This includes laptop computers. While we will provide security guards and ensure doors are locked appropriately, we accept no liability for damage to or loss of your property.

How do I ship demo equipment?

You will be provided with a link to the Showcase Logistics website. At this site you will be provided with shipping, audio visual rental form, etc.

Each company is permitted to register six employees.

Is there assistance for lodging?
