The Fiterator is limited to 4-6 companies per cohort. This sharp focus allows us to customize the program for each team to ensure their individual success. The first half is centered around learning product fit while prepping for a presentation to crucial industry C-levels. We then laser focus on testing, negotiations, and closing deals.

FAQs

[fa icon="plus-square"] Do I need to work out of your Louisville or Sunnyvale office?
Nope, having an office onsite is not required.  As a matter of fact, we have had Innovators on the East Coast, Rocky Mountains, the UK and Scotland.
[fa icon="plus-square"] I have no experience in connectivity, is that okay?
Yes! We are looking for fresh prospectives to disrupt the industry, you will be supported by the best and brightest minds in the connectivity industry who will help you understand the technical side of projects.
[fa icon="plus-square"] Who owns the intellectual property?
It’s really simple.  The stuff you invent for Innovators in Residence, belongs to us.  The stuff you invent for you, belongs to you.  We want to keep a clean, easy separation.
[fa icon="plus-square"] What if I'm not an ex-startup-founder?
Innovators in Residence is limited to individuals who have experience leading a startup.
[fa icon="plus-square"] Is this a full time job?
Nope.  We want you to be thinking about and working on your next big idea at the same time.  Maybe it springs from your work as an IIR, or maybe not.  Most IIRs commit 15 hours per week.
[fa icon="plus-square"] What will I be doing, exactly?
At CableLabs, our goal is to invent multiple, billion $ ideas every year for the connectivity industry. To make that happen, we park hundreds of ideas that don’t make the cut. As an IIR, you get access to this “exhaust” of the innovation process and will help determine if these ideas should be killed, re-evaluated or spin out as a new startup.
